대체 젠더는 무엇이고, 왜 이토록 논란이 클까요? 왜 우익은 젠더를 정조준 공격할까요? 여성과 트랜스젠더의 권리는 대립할까요? 젠더를 둘러싼 논란에 어떤 태도를 취해야 할지 토론해 보고자 합니다.
Today, “gender” has become a politically contested concept. Rejection of traditional gender norms is growing, and more and more people are openly identifying as transgender. In response, the far right has launched attacks against “gender ideology.” Recently, they held counter-rallies against the Queer Parade. Meanwhile, gender has become a subject of debate also among those who are against oppression of women.
So what exactly is gender, and why has it become so contentious? Why does the right wing take aim at gender? Are the rights of women and transgender people in conflict? We’ll discuss on what stance we should take towards the debates around gender.
