The world is being shaken by wars and intensifying conflicts between the major powers. Why is this happening, and what can we do to stop the barbarism and devastation?
In this forum there'll be discussions about the dangers facing the world today, their causes and possible alternatives — about fractures in the world order, war and resistance in the Middle East, to rising tensions in East Asia and on the Korean Peninsula and so on.
This will not be a dry academic discussion. Palestinians, Iranians, and a world-renowned Marxist scholar will share their vivid experiences and perspectives, and discuss what we can do to build a peaceful and better world. We invite you to join this meaningful event.

An Iranian living in S. Korea. She works as an English language educator and has been speaking out against the US and Israel’s war on Iran.
Mariam
A Palestinian living in S. Korea and involved in the Palestine solidarity movement. She has given many speeches and lectures across S. Korea to raise awareness for the Palestinian cause.
Kim Ji-yun
A member of Steering Committee of Workers’ Solidarity. As a co-coordinator of People in Solidarity with Palestinians, she has organized various activities for Palestine solidarity and against the US-Israeli wars.
Kim Ha-young
A member of Steering Committee of Workers’ Solidarity. She has been involved in many practical activism and has written extensively on imperialism and the situation in East Asia and the Korean Peninsula, including East Asia and Korean Peninsula Seen Through the Theory of Imperialism, as a co-author, The Formation and Crisis of State Capitalism in North Korea and so on.
Alex Callinicos
Emeritus Professor at King’s College London and a world-renowned Marxist scholar. He has long been active in the Socialist Workers Party (SWP) in Britain, dedicating himself to building the movement and the revolutionary left.
He authored many books including The New Age of Catastrophe, Deciphering Capital, and Imperialism and Global Political Economy.
He appeared on Korean TV station EBS(Educational Broadcasting System)’s Great Minds series and gave lectures on “Capitalism, Socialism and Catastrophe” (watch here).
