이주민 유입에 어떤 입장을 취해야 할까?

지난 10년간 유럽에 가려다 익사한 난민이 수만 명입니다. 유럽의 국경 통제 강화 탓이죠. 트럼프는 재선하면 미국 역사상 최대 규모의 이민자 추방을 하겠답니다. 이런 잔혹함에 반대하는 사람들도 이주 통제를 하긴 해야 한다고 생각합니다. 과연 그럴까요?
이제 한국도 이주민 비중이 적잖고, 난민 인정이나 외국인 가사노동자 도입 등 이주 통제를 둘러싼 논란이 빈번해지고 있습니다. 열악한 처우를 이유로 이주민 유입에 반대하는 게 옳은지, 이주 통제에 어떤 입장을 취해야 하는지 토론해 보려 합니다.

How should we take a stance on migrant inflows — should we oppose these inflows because of migrants' poor conditions?

Europe's tightened border controls have led to the drowning of tens of thousands of refugees. Trump has vowed to carry out the largest deportation of immigrants in US history if re-elected. But even those who oppose these cruelties think that we somehow have to control migration. Or should we? 
Now, the proportion of migrants has become considerable in South Korea as well. Debates over migration control, such as refugee recognition and the introduction of foreign domestic workers, are becoming more frequent. We will discuss whether it's right to oppose the inflow of migrants because of their poor conditions and what stance we should take on migration control.
