이스라엘이 중동 전체를 전쟁으로 끌고 들어가고 있습니다. 이스라엘은 언뜻 막강해 보이지만, 과거 레바논에서 헤즈볼라를 중심으로 한 대중 저항에 패배한 바 있습니다. 헤즈볼라는 이번에도 이스라엘을 격퇴할 수 있을까요? 그때와 지금은 무엇이 같고 다를까요?
확전을 둘러싼 정치 역학과 레바논 저항의 현황을 살펴보고자 레바논 마르크스주의자 시문 아사프를 초청했습니다. 그는 2006년 이스라엘의 레바논 침공 당시 현지에서 저항을 취재했고, 현재 레바논 좌파 언론의 편집위원입니다. 이날 토론회에서는 이스라엘에 맞선 더 광범한 중동 저항의 전망도 다룰 것입니다.

Palestine, Lebanon ... Middle East on Fire: IMPERIALISM, RESISTANCE & REVOLUTION

Israel is pulling the entire Middle East into the war. While Israel seems all-powerful, it was previously defeated by popular resistance in Lebanon, led by Hezbollah. Will Hezbollah be able to repel Israel again, and what has changed and remains unchanged between then and now?
To explore the political dynamics surrounding the escalation and the current state of resistance in Lebanon, we've invited Lebanese Marxist Simon Assaf, who worked as a correspondent covering the resistance during Israel's 2006 invasion of Lebanon and is currently an editorial member of leftist media in Lebanon. He'll also discuss the prospects for wider revolt against Israel in the Middle East.
